Summary

I was born in Memphis, Tennessee and grew up in Huntsville, Alabama. I like dogs, not cats. I meandered through one school and then another and some college in pursuit of a CS degree.

I owned an Amiga 1000. I worked on a DEC PDP 11/44 mainframe running RSX 11/M-Plus. I even have some FORTRAN source code to a BBS that gamer god Brian Reynolds wrote for that mainframe. I use FreeBSD/OSX not Linux.

I have a wonderful daughter who wants to be a paleontologist. She spends most of her time with her mom, step-dad, younger brother and little sister in Madison, Alabama.

I watch a lot of movies. I run a small list for discussion by Dallas movie geeks. I also try to make it to the weekly Roundtable at the Angelika.

I enjoy taking pictures.

I really love traveling. I've hit all the states except Hawaii and Rhode Island. Most of the time it was cross-country travel in my car but I've also done it by Amtrak, planes and Greyhound bus. Sadly I've only just started world travel. My last international trip was in 02/04 to Morocco to see the Sahara. I wrote a few entries but most of my thoughts stayed in my paper journal. The last trip of note that I took was riding Greyhound for 30 days back in October 2004.
