Coming to terms with my cinema sacrilege. I find the pre-French new wave directors like Alain Renais, Robert Bresson, or Henri-Georges Clouzot more rewarding than Truffaut, Godard, and Rohmer. I might even say the Czech and English new wave films have remained more relevant than their French counterparts.
