Rod Dreher has a wildly obnoxious piece in Time magazine about marriage equality that I won’t link to. He says homosexuality is a choice that valorizes erotic liberty and degrades orthodox Christians who must flee America for Benedictine monasteries. The irony is it’s his own orthodox Christian beliefs that are the choice. It’s a special kind of arrogance that he thinks his beliefs are exclusively what make America great.

I hope he’s right that this is the new normal. I will revel in the comeuppance orthodox Christians receive over the coming decades if they choose to continue hating. Personally I have been waiting for that for decades.
