Rian Johnson called out this 1959 Russian movie as a major influence on the next Star Wars movie he’s writing/directing. The whole movie is pretty great but this forest fire scene is another level of intense. It really looks like they set the forest on fire and had the actors run around in it.

BTW this is the same director that did “I am Cuba” with the famous single take funeral scene. He also had Cuba relocate 1000 soliders, during the Cuban missile crisis, for a scene in the movie.
